As an avid traveler, I am always on the lookout for the next adventure. And on this trip, I found myself in the beautiful town of Ucluelet, British Columbia, nestled on the shores of the expansive Pacific Ocean. Ucluelet is a quaint and charming town with magnificent hiking trails, stunning beaches, and lots of wildlife. It is located just a short drive away from Tofino, another popular tourist destination.

Our journey began with a stop at the Taylor River Rest Area, a popular swimming area on the way to Tofino and Ucluelet. We witnessed someone jump off a ledge and decided to join in on the fun. The water was freezing, but the adrenaline rush was worth it. We highly recommend stopping by and taking a plunge, but be prepared for the cold.

On our drive to Ucluelet, poor Benny, our furry companion, got car sick twice due to the winding roads. We attempted to give him Gravol, but it didn't work. So, we had to take it easy, but the scenic views made up for it.

Our first hike was the Lighthouse Loop of the Wild Pacific Trail, starting at the Amphitrite Lighthouse, a 1.5-kilometer trail along the coastline. As we walked, we kept our eyes peeled for wildlife, and we were fortunate enough to spot harbor seals, stellar sea lions, and California sea lions. We also saw a variety of whales seasonally, including gray whales and humpback whales. Keep in mind that this area is prone to earthquakes and tsunamis, so be sure to follow the safety protocol in case of an emergency.

Next, we visited Yuki Dogs, a popular spot for hot dogs with a twist. They have an array of unique combinations, such as the mac and cheese hot dog and the spicy Mexican dog, which we opted for. The hot dogs were delicious, and the atmosphere was fun and vibrant.

Our next adventure was the Ancient Cedars Loop, a short hike that led us to a massive tree formed by multiple trees that grew over the centuries. It was awe-inspiring to stand under the towering tree and absorb its ancient energy.

On our last day, we went on a whale-watching tour and were blessed to witness humpback whales breaching. It was breathtaking to see these giants of the sea up close. We also saw seals and sea otters on the tour.

The trip ended with a spectacular sunset, enjoyed from the Wild Pacific Trail. It was a great way to finish off our adventure in Ucluelet. Overall, our trip to Ucluelet was nothing short of magical, and I highly recommend it to anyone.
