Today we would like to introduce you to Ron and Judy of Full Time Dream RV, a YouTube channel that shares all the nitty gritty of RV living. After some pretty major events in the last year, they still manage to put out a video every week and host a livestream event! Check out their story below.  

The Story

Tell us all about who you are!

We will be taking you on our travels as we move to Full Time Rv Life. What does that mean? It means sharing the trials and tribulations of everyday life. We will show you how to do things in a budget friendly way to make the most of your Camping experiences. This will range from how to RV, eating healthy, budgeting, to just some fun stuff!! We are Ron and Judy of Full Time Dream RV. We want to show you how to make the most of your free time now! We currently reside in Western NY. We have been Camping/ RVing together over 10 years. We look forward to sharing this with you.

Tell us the story of how you found and chose your rig.

We started with a popup and slowly graduated to different rigs until we settled on the layout and what will fit our needs at this time. We bought used so we could have the flexibility to trade as needed. Our 2006 Thor Hurricane has 3 slides and will be here until our needs change.

What’s your travel style?

We are part-time. In 3/2020 our plans had to change. My (Judy) dad passed and we moved to my Moms to take care of her FT. This year we are working on renovating to have an easier time to take Mom with us.

What are the top 3 favorite places that you’ve visited?

NY state campgrounds we love Allegany State Park. It has so much to offer everyone. We had a seasonal site just outside the park for 3 years so we have spent a lot of time in this area.

Bristol TN was our first experience with Boondockers Welcome when we had to pick up Ron’s parents after wintering there.

Maine was our first real trip. It was a beautiful fall trip. We took our time getting there. Did our first Walmart camping. We learned on that trip that it is no fun to drive 16 hours straight back home. It took us a week to recover from that.

Tell us about one of your most challenging travel or RVing experiences.

We adapt well to situations. Taking My Mom along will be our next challenge but looking forward to it.

In what way has the pandemic impacted your activities?

Well, we launched our channel 3/1/2020 before all heck broke loose! 17 days later Dad was gone, Mom was in Rehab (they went to the hospital 2 days apart) and Lockdowns started. We live in NY so no Nursing Home visits. Our State parks shut down for Memorial day. They did allow camping for July 4 if you already had a reservation. We volunteer so we were able to get out and enjoy ourselves a few times.

What sparked your decision to start a YouTube travel channel?

Ron wanted a way for our grandkids and family to follow our travels.

Are there any other YouTubers that inspired your decision to start a channel?

We watched a lot of YTers but I don’t think there was anyone that inspired our decision.

What are some of the most rewarding parts of having a YouTube travel channel?

We love getting to know new people, the other day we found another local couple that does YT and we had no idea. It is so great to be able to make friends all over the world.

How many videos per week do you typically publish?

We generally put out 1 video and do a 1 hour live every week. We just did our last scheduled live and will now concentrate on more videos. We tend to make shorter videos than most. When I edit I make it the length I feel it needs to be to tell the story I want to tell.

What is some of your favorite equipment for producing videos?

My favorite equipment is the one that works the way it is supposed to work at the time LOL We love our Cannon m50.We do have a drone but with all the regulations we haven’t used it much. We don’t get caught up in fancy equipment.
