Spring arrives to the Coquihalla River | Trails in Hope, BC

One of the easiest ways for us to get out to enjoy nature this winter has been to take a walk into town from our home base. Hope, BC has several walking trails along the Coquihalla river that winds through town to the Fraser river.

There is a saying among residents that “if you’re waiting for the rain to stop in order to go out, you’ll be waiting until summer”, so most of us just carry on and go out prepared with the appropriate gear to be comfortable.

It’s a mentality that keeps us moving forward and living the life we imagine.

With their comforting predictability, the seasons are changing, though, and Spring is starting to roll in. On a beautiful sunny day this week, we took an extra long 3-hour walk in and around these trails to see if we could find evidence of Spring’s arrival.

What we found was an abundance of life - birds chirping and bathing, insects starting to emerge, and people fishing along the Coquihalla and Fraser rivers. You can literally just walk into the Coquihalla river with a pair of waders on (and a fishing license) to catch dinner.

Right in town! How cool is that?

Mother Nature is waking up from her winter’s nap, which means we’ll be out for longer trips with the RV very soon and can’t wait to share more of our RV travel adventures.

Until next time, keep on living the life you’ve imagined!
