We head out on an RV travel day trip to the Hope Slide where we learn about Canada’s second largest landslide in recorded history. Located just 15 minutes from Hope, BC on highway 3, this historical site is also the resting place of a plane crash that can be hiked to and worth coming to explore.

This week we are diving into our local history a bit by going to explore the site of Canada’s second largest landslide - the Hope Slide. Sorry, the first largest landslide (Mount Meager landslide) was not available. It’s an important historical site for the area because it blocked one of the main highways between the coastal and interior regions for two weeks and resulted in the death of four people.

As the name suggests, it is close to the town of Hope where our home base is located, making it a quick and easy day-trip for us to take the trailer to explore. We hope you enjoy learning about this place as much as we did.
