“If the only tool you have is a hammer, it's hard to eat spaghetti.”
- David Allen
We've sold (almost) everything we had several times in our 12+ years together, but we've held onto a few things that have withstood the test of time. This is our list of favorites.
When we find great products and services we like to tell our friends, and would never recommend something if we don't use and love it ourselves.

Panasonic Lumix G85
This is our main camera for stationary and cinematic filming. It can record super-crisp 4K video and the package lense included has a decent zoom range and beautiful depth of field.
Hero 7 Black
This was an absolute game changer when it came out, and remains our most versatile tool. The stablization on this tiny camera is just amazing, capturing all the action in full 4K 60fps.
DJI Mavic Air
This is the perfect travel drone. Small and light, but powerful enough to hold its own in high winds, and capture beautiful 4K video.
Rode VideoMicro
One thing we learned early on was the importance of good audio. People will often forgive poor video quality, but not audio. This tiny mic gives amazing sound quality in all sorts of conditions.
Viltrox L116T LED light
After audio, the second most important thing for any video is lighting. This bright LED light is super lightweight and can clip on to a camera or stand.
MOSISO Camera Sling Bag
When you're traveling, it's important to protect your camera equipment. If you can believe it, this compact bag can actually fit the Lumix, Hero, the drone, plus batteries and accessories!
GL.iNet Travel Router
This little device creates your own portable local area network (LAN), and lets you connect all your devices to one 3G/4G/5G connection or to a single wifi point. It also acts as a firewall, protecting you from any viruses or malicious devices on that network.
Wacaco Minipresso GR
The Minipresso, featured in our first camping trip video, takes boiling water and ground coffee and makes a perfect espresso. No power needed! Just pump and pour.
6 Gauge Jumper Cables
These cables saved our butts on our first camping trip when we ran out of trailer battery power and couldn't pull in our slide! Thankfully they'd arrived the day before we left on our trip, so we were able to hook up the truck battery and be on our way.
