Since beginning this RV life journey, we've been to many campgrounds, but Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park has stood out as one of Vancouver Island’s little gems. Situated in a lush green forest in the [link]Parksville Coombs[/link] area, this campground offers a perfect blend of outdoor adventure and relaxation.
We reserved our site in advance, and we were glad we did since this is a popular spot during the summer months. There are a total of 94 campsites, evenly split between the upper and lower sections. We stayed in the lower section, which is closer to the river and the falls.
One of the first things we noticed about the campground was the abundance of trees. While this provided shade and privacy, it also made it difficult to get a reliable internet connection. We tried using Starlink, but it couldn't get a satellite fix. However, we still managed to get some 3G signal, so we weren't completely disconnected from the world.
The campsites themselves were very spacious and well-maintained. Each site had a level gravel pad, a picnic table, and a fire pit. Unfortunately, during our stay, there was a fire ban in the area, so we couldn't have a traditional campfire. However, we saw some other campers using propane fire rings, which were still allowed.
While the campground didn't have any shower facilities, there were toilets available. Also, note that there is no dump station on site.
