Spring has arrived, and Jay hurt his back

This weekend marked the first day of Spring! Across many cultures the season is known as a time of renewal, rejuvenation, and growth. For us, we’re reminded of last Spring when we quit our jobs and sold our house in the city for a life of freedom and travel. We were making a fresh start and were excited to be diving into RV ownership and travel without any experience. Little did we know, we were embarking on a journey full of twists and turns as we navigated a new world full of travel restrictions.

Despite restrictions, we were able to buy a truck and trailer, and take a cross-country trip from British Columbia to Ontario, Canada. It was an epic road trip that taught us how to tow a trailer, but also how special RV travel really is. We were amazed at how easy the RV made it for us to stay isolated from others while crossing through each province on the way, and to be able to visit with family outdoors and distanced around the campfire once we got there. Normally we wouldn’t be wishing for this, but in the midst of a global pandemic, RV travel made it possible for us to still get out there to explore.
We were so grateful to have been able to make that trip.
Now, spring has returned and we have started tending the gardens at our home base, during which Jay strained his back and has been in recovery ever since. That means that we’ve had to scale back our videos recently, but he is on the mend and we will be ramping up our adventures again soon.

This spring we are keeping with the theme of local travel and RV renovations. All of the parts for our solar panel installation have arrived, we have a new shower head and bathroom faucets to install, and we want to take you camping in the town of Chilliwack and to see the blue heron nature reserve. We can’t wait to get back out on the road and show you the beauty of British Columbia.
